"One of the main features in the design is the blue lantern that hangs near the top. I have noted with interest that a number of readers have suggested that this must be an important clue, although it is not mentioned in your book. To me, it seems obvious what this represents. In your book you say that the area by the well is known for the appearance of a strange blue light that you suggest is a natural but little understood electrical phenomenon called geoplasma caused by the rocks and streams of the area. Surely it is not a coincidence that the widow has a blue light hanging at the top of the scene. I have done some research and discovered that this eerie light, known locally as the “ghost light”, has been seen in the area on many occasions over the years. The earliest record I can find is from the 1930s, but if this was a known phenomenon at the time Jacob Cove-Jones designed the clues for the window, then this is what could be represented by the blue lantern. The guiding light that would help reveal where the treasure was."
